The Simple Version

We use privacy-friendly analytics to improve our site. We track page views and basic usage patterns, but we don't track you personally and we never sell your data.

Analytics: We use Matomo — a self-hosted, privacy-first analytics platform running on our own servers. It uses zero cookies (cookies disabled by default) and collects no personal data. All analytics data stays on infrastructure we control.

Consent: We ask before loading analytics. If you decline, nothing is tracked.

What We Collect

Via Matomo (only if you consent), we collect aggregate data only:

Page URLs — Which pages visitors view
Referrer — Where traffic comes from (e.g., Google search)
Browser Type — E.g., Chrome, Firefox (no version tracking)
Device Type — Desktop, mobile, or tablet
Country — Approximate location (country-level only)

What We Do NOT Collect

Your IP address (never stored)
Personal identifiable information
Cross-site tracking data
Behavioral profiles or fingerprints
Data for advertising or resale

Cookies & Local Storage

Matomo Analytics: Configured with cookies disabled. All tracking is cookieless and session-less.

Consent Preference: If you interact with the analytics consent banner, your choice (accept/decline) is saved in your browser's localStorage. This is never transmitted to us.

Theme Preference: Your light/dark mode choice is saved in localStorage. Again, never sent to any server.

Third-Party Services

This site is hosted on Netlify. They may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, timestamps) as part of infrastructure operations. View Netlify's privacy policy.

Matomo Analytics: Self-hosted, privacy-first analytics running on our own servers (stats.greentreehosting.net). GDPR, CCPA, and PECR compliant. Cookies disabled. DNT (Do Not Track) respected. No data leaves our infrastructure. View Matomo's privacy policy.

FormSubmit: Our contact form uses FormSubmit.co for email delivery. Your name, email, and message are transmitted only to deliver your inquiry to us. View FormSubmit's privacy policy.

We do NOT use: Google Analytics, social media tracking pixels, advertising networks, or invasive third-party scripts.

We respect your privacy rights under all applicable laws including GDPR (EU/EEA), CCPA/CPRA (California), PIPEDA (Canada), LGPD (Brazil), and ePrivacy Directive (EU).

Since we collect minimal aggregate data and no personal information, most rights are automatically satisfied. If you have any privacy-related requests, contact us and we'll respond within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Our website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
